Fifty Years on East Masi Street.

In 1975, on a narrow street in the heart of old Madurai, Ibrahim Hardware Stores opened its shutters for the first time. East Masi Street was already a busy artery of trade — temples on one end, markets on the other, and the constant movement of contractors, painters and builders who kept the city standing. Ibrahim Hardware was built to serve them.

What began as a modest hardware supply shop soon grew into something more. The founder recognised that the painters and contractors coming through his door needed more than brushes and nails — they needed paint they could trust. Consistent colour. Reliable coverage. Pricing that made sense for the retail trade. And so Ibrahim Paints was born — with Dawn Coat for emulsion, Trax for distemper and Charminar for enamel.

Over the decades, the shop became a reference point on East Masi Street. Retailers from across Madurai and the surrounding districts came to stock our brands. Not because of advertising. Because the products worked, and the supply never stopped.

We became an authorised stockist of Venus Locks, expanding what we offered to the contractors and hardware shops who already trusted our paints. Padlocks, door locks, handles, bolts, nails, cutting blades — everything a builder or painter needs, available wholesale from a single address.

Today, Ibrahim Hardware Stores is run by the next generation of the same family. The shop at No. 31, East Masi Street still opens every morning at nine. The same brands are still manufactured and supplied. The same Venus Locks are on the shelf. And the same commitment — to consistent quality, fair wholesale pricing and reliable supply — still drives everything we do.
